As an Aviation Captain at Altria, you will be entrusted with transporting senior leaders safely and efficiently while serving as a key member of a high-performing aviation team. The position is based in Richmond, VA with a comprehensive relocation package available.
What you will be doing:
- Maintaining current qualifications and proficiency on up to two aircraft types while flying worldwide lift missions in support of company business.
- Overseeing the conduct of executive air transport flights while serving as Trip Captain, acting as Pilot-in-Command or Second-in-Command of company aircraft.
- Actively contributing to the department’s Safety Management System through participation in safety audits, incident reporting, and ongoing training initiatives.
- Actively participating in the department’s Standardization and Training program. Attending industry professional development events and participating in the department’s Ongoing Training Program.
Requirements
We want you to have:
- Formal flight training from military or civilian professional flight training organizations.
- 5+ years’ experience operating multi-engine, turbojet airplanes and five years in executive air transportation.
- 5,000 total flight hours; 400 hours flown in the preceding two years; 1,000 hours as pilot-in-command in multi-engine airplanes. Fewer total flight hours may be considered for exceptionally qualified candidates.
- Comprehensive knowledge of FAA/ICAO/TSA Regulations, ATC Procedures, technical aircraft systems, Crew Resource Management, Aviation Safety Management Systems, and risk assessment and mitigation.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and planning abilities; capable of effective multitasking.
- Excellent communication skills; proven ability to foster teamwork across company and department functions.
- Customer service excellence when interacting with passengers.
