GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for leading the sales and operations teams in developing relationships, generating sales, and delivering quality installation of floor covering products and services in assigned market.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Attract, develop, retain and manage the team to increase sales and ensure the successful delivery and implementation of McCoy-Rockford's products and services, maximizing customer satisfaction, profitability, and quality
- Establish a high performing culture and facilitate the organizational transformation to enable the team to exceed sales goals and deliver exemplary customer service
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and buying "influencers", including general contractors, architects, designers, project managers and strategic vendors, to stay abreast of market trends, to maintain an understanding of customers' needs, and to facilitate business growth
- Work with MRI leadership to create and implement a vision and strategy for the department in alignment with McCoy-Rockford's vision, leveraging knowledge of market trends and customers' needs; continually communicate vision and strategy with team to actively engage them in making it a reality
- Develop and execute strategy for achieving annual sales goals
- Develop metrics to track productivity and effectiveness; work with Floor Covering team to improve current processes, procedures, and tools to optimize productivity and ensure ease of doing business with McCoy
- Teach and be a living example of McCoy-Rockford's values and culture, reinforcing "what" we do (exemplary customer service) is as important as "how" we do it (in sync with our values and culture)
- Develop strong working relationships with other departments within the company
- This position supervises the Floor Covering Account Executives, Sales support and Labor Installation team
- Interview, hire, train employees; plan, assign and direct work of employees; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolves problems
- Other duties as assigned
KEY SELECTION AND SUCCESS FACTORS
WORK EXPERIENCE:
- 8+ years experience in commercial flooring field
- 5+ years experience in a supervisory/management role
- Experience working in an outside sales role calling on a varied client base required
- Proven sales success
- Commercial Floor covering industry experience required
- Floor covering installation and project management experience required
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree from a 4 year college or university required
OTHER/PREFERRED:
- Must be able to build relationships with external clients, vendors, and internal clients
- Must have superior leaderships skills and the ability to develop and inspire employees while holding them accountable
- Must have strong interpersonal skills and excellent oral and written communications skills
- Must have strong problem solving skills and the ability to make critical business decisions with limited information and time
- Must demonstrate tact, salesmanship, and good negotiating skills
- Must have mathematical aptitude

- Employee occasionally walks on level surfaces to: interact with all operational departments, retrieve needed materials, to access lobby display, and attend meetings. Duration 45 minutes per day; Distance up to 1,500 feet per day
- Employee occasionally stands on level surfaces during interaction with customers and other personal. Duration 30 minutes per day
- Employee continuously sits using the computer, talking on the phone, processing project paper work, and attending. Duration up to 7 hours per day
- Employee constantly reaches out during work at desk. Height forward reach waist to chest; Frequency up to 30 times per hour
- Employee must rarely bend, squat, stoop, or kneel during filing tasks.
- Employee is occasionally exposed to ambient temperatures in the warehouse.
