Minimum qualifications:
- 2+ years of Recruiting experience or relevant work experience
- Up to 30% travel or as needed
- Ability to effectively translate military experience to civilian skills
- Working understanding of military ranks and MOS/AFSC/NEC codes
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
- Reliable, punctual attendance is a crucial function of the position

About the job:
The Military and Veteran Recruiter will lead United Airlines' strategic efforts to attract, source, and place qualified military personnel and veterans into open positions across the organization. The recruiter will be responsible for translating military experience to civilian roles, maintaining robust candidate pipelines for Management & Administrative positions, and ensuring successful placement of veterans who bring unique skills and leadership capabilities to United Airlines. This role involves attending and managing event participation and coordination while building relationships within military and veteran communities. This position plays a critical role in strengthening United's commitment to hiring military talent while supporting veterans' transition to civilian careers in the aviation industry.
Core accountabilities / key responsibilities:
- Attend military and veteran career fairs, networking events, and recruitment conferences
- Create and organize on-site and virtual targeted recruitment events for military and veteran communities
- Develop invitation strategies and outreach campaigns for recruitment events
- Proactively source and identify qualified military personnel and veterans across various specialties
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified military and veteran candidates for Management & Administrative (M&A) and frontline roles
- Conduct initial screenings and assessments to match candidates with appropriate opportunities
- Translate military experience and competencies into relevant civilian skill sets
- Provide regular guidance and training to recruiting staff and hiring managers on the veteran/military community to ensure thorough understanding of this talent pool
- Build relationships with military and veteran organizations, military bases, transition assistance programs, and key veteran career contacts
The base pay range for this role is $66,500.00 to $86,616.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
