Who we are:

Red River Animal Emergency Hospital & Referral Center is independently owned and has been serving North Dakota, Minnesota, and South Dakota communities for the past 20 years. We are a VECCS level 2 center and North Dakota’s only 24/7 emergency & specialty hospital, who currently has specialists in Critical Care, Oncology, Surgery, and Internal Medicine. Along with our specialists, we have 13 experienced emergency veterinarians backed by a great support staff and management team.

Having owners who work in our hospital and community gives our leadership team a great perspective on how to support our staff and to make sure a good work-life balance is provided. Our hospital owners and leadership team want our doctors to practice how they want and make sure you have all the support, equipment, and staff you need to run your department.

Our remodeled and expanded hospital has all the bells and whistles including a large ICU, 2 ER surgery suites, extensive in-house lab, bedside oxygen, multiple Snyder O2 units, 16 slice helical CT, advanced ultrasound and echo services, hemodialysis, hemoperfusion, and plasmapheresis capabilities, high flow nasal oxygen, mechanical ventilator, and our own blood bank. The specialty center addition has an Internal Medicine suite, oncology suite with hood room as well as a separate chemo suite for administration and housing of patients, GI/rhino/urinary scoping equipment, laparoscopy, 2 large surgery suites, and our digital x-ray system that include wireless DR plates for mobile/intraop use. Anything else our specialists require or need for their department, we will provide! 

 

Who you are: 

We are seeking a driven Internist (residency-trained or already boarded) to join our Internal Medicine department. Our Internal Medicine department led by Dr. Greg Kuhlman has been able to offer internal medicine services that our state and surrounding veterinary communities have needed for years! Our Internal Medicine service in the last year has helped countless patients and has worked with over 100 plus referral practices to provide support and education for our mutual patients. The next nearest specialty hospital is 3 hours away, so there is a strong caseload, and our community is in need of your expertise. Work-life balance is important, so on-call would not be required (no after-hours, no Holidays or weekends). Interest in abdominal ultrasound is encouraged and would be highly beneficial, but not required, as our current internist and criticalists are highly trained in abdominal ultrasounds and echocardiograms. Our owners also encourage any specialists with interest to join the ownership group, affording you a unique opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a rapidly growing multi-specialty center.   

Compensation and Perks: 

Base salary starting at $200k –Production-based compensation is encouraged and will no doubt provide you with a rewarding career in the long run.  

Flexible schedules: (4 days a week) that allow focus on both professional development and quality of life  (No on-call, weekends, or holidays)
