Tenax AerospaceTHE MISSION
A&P mechanic will support a modified GV aircraft to include ensuring the assigned aircraft are maintained in accordance with FAA, US Army 95-20 and program standards flight ground operating procedures (FGOP). Properly updating all Maintenance tracking, logbook and company reporting requirements are met.
- Must be able to operate independently in austere environments worldwide.
- Contributes as a team member to maintain high aircraft availability rates 365 days per year. Ensuring the Aircraft is mission ready with limited risk and a high level of safety.
- Supervises any vendor technicians performing specialized inspections, repairs, or logistical support on or off site.
- Interfaces with domestic and foreign government representatives regarding the use of local logistical infrastructure.
- Assists the Gulfstream maintenance lead by ensuring monthly inventory files to include issuance, receipt and core return in completing scheduled and unscheduled Maintenance aircraft on ground (AOG).
- Utilizes core knowledge to troubleshoot aircraft on-ground and perform on-ground servicing whenever possible to mitigate the need to repair at an off-site repair location.
Essential Functions

- Complete a detailed debrief with the flight crew.
- Inspects and Installs parts with proper documents.
- Ensures the maintenance performed is documented in hard copy and Digital form (CMP).
- With proper training and limited supervision perform high quality inspections, servicing, maintenance, troubleshooting, function testing, and repair of aircraft systems and components. Can properly use hand tools in a timely, clean, safe and professional manner with no rework. Can accurately order general aircraft parts as needed.
- Complies with Army Regulation 95-20 and the FGOP as required by contract and our aircraft.
- I.E. Tool control, training recertification, Conus Replacement Center (CRC) etc.
- Update CMP on all task, properly supplying the correct paperwork such as 8130 / tear down reports.
- Diagnoses, adjusts, or repairs aircraft engines and assemblies, such as hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Utilizing the OEM Maintenance Manuals and other reference data
- Troubleshoots, installs and services avionics communications equipment and electrical system wiring while ensuring the equipment meets mandated requirements and specifications.
- Performs testing and calibration of avionic systems including computer and electronic communication panels.
- Maintains modification systems per the Inspection for Continued Airworthiness (ICA)
- Demonstrates proficiency of the Tenax Aerospace work order system by completing accurate and timely discrepancies, corrective action statements, Service Bulletins / Airworthiness Directives (AD) Compliance statements, final inspection, closing of squawks and work orders.
- Provides maintenance support at the aircraft location utilizing company provided ground support equipment (GSE) and tooling.
- Records spares, GSE and tooling inventory to include receipt, issuance and core tracking.
- Tracks GSE and tooling for calibration requirements and ensures all equipment is calibrated in accordance with manufacturer requirements.
- Ensures core returns are properly packaged for shipment and all necessary documentation for return and customs are accurate and complete.
- Owns assigned tasks from their initiation to completion/decision point.
- Contributes to the overall success of the program by supporting customer needs and executing duties efficiently and effectively.
- Provide recommendations for resolution of maintenance and logistical issues.
- Other duties as assigned.
This position has no direct reports.
Work Environment
This job operates in field locations. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. Travel and rotational deployment to CONUS and possibly austere OCONUS duty locations is required.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma.
- At least 3-5 years of relevant experience.
- Possess a valid driver's license.
- Capable of lifting at least 50 pounds.
- Ability to work extra hours when necessary.
- Possess current US Passport.
- Able to secure necessary VISA(s)
- Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license.
- Must be able to secure and maintain a secret level clearance
- Must be able to complete pre-deployment training in accordance with program standards through a CONUS Replacement Center
Preferred Qualifications
- Avionics experience.
- Inspection Authorization (IA).
- Current secret level security clearance or the ability to obtain one
- Familiarity with DCMA Instruction 8210-1c or Army Regulation 95-20
- Associate or Bachelor degree in a related field.
