Job Purpose

Become our next Journeyman Off-Road Field Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic at Horizon. You will be the backbone of our fleet; performing preventative maintenance, advanced diagnostics, and field repairs to ensure equipment never misses a beat. If you know diesel, hydraulics, and electrical systems and take pride in safe, professional work, we want you to be on our team.

What you will do...

• Develop and maintain a consistent schedule of performing preventative maintenance of all Herc owned fleet at long term customer job sites
• Oversee and conduct oil changes, lubrication of equipment, tire replacements, hose repairs, battery replacements and assorted services
• Diagnose and repair heavy equipment as required to ensure proper operating condition at the job site
• Diagnose and troubleshoot fuel systems, electrical systems, hydraulic systems and propane systems
• Recondition and replace assorted parts to return equipment to a safely functioning state
• Educating customers on proper use of equipment to avoid future breakdowns
• Analyze problem areas for any significant wear or tear and address to ensure proper usage of the equipment until your next scheduled visit
• Adhere to all safety guidelines posted at active jobsite where repairs and maintenance are completed
• Maintain work area on jobsite in a clean and organized manner
• Produce timely and detailed service reports and repair logs
• Follow all company's filed procedures and protocols
• Build positive relationships with customers
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

• Must have Journeyman Mechanic (Off Road) Certificate or Red Seal in HET.
• Able to work 7 on, 7 off.
• Camp is provided along with flights out of Edmonton or Calgary only.
• At least 3-years' hands on experience working on Aerial & Earth Moving Equipment
• Ability to work constructively in a high-pressure environment.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Exceptional communication skills while maintaining a professional customer service focused attitude.
• Valid Class 5 license.
• A clean and recent driver's abstract will be required.
• All employment is contingent on successful completion of drug and alcohol screening.
• According to site regulations, all candidates must be clean shaven.

Compensation Data

• $57.55 per hour.
• Working hours are 11.5 hours per day at regular pay rate.
• Overtime is only calculated once you work past your 7 days or more than 12 hours in a day.
